Social media is vital to helping the agency inform and engage with customers and stakeholders. Social media is valued and invested in by the agency and embedded in the culture, making it an exciting place to hone your social media skills.
We have 17 social media channels with more than 220,000 followers across 3 platforms, we publish an average of 200 pieces of content per week. Our channels are a key source of information for New Zealanders and our online communities are diverse, engaged and passionate about transport issues.
The role
We are looking for someone to support the Senior Social Media Co-o with the day-to-day running of the Agency's social media channels and support the implementation of a new social media policy, social media strategy and community guidelines.
As a coordinator this role will see you publishing approved content to our channels, monitoring channels for comments and messages, working with communications and engagement advisors and subject matter experts on developing content and responses and working in partnership with internal customers to help ensure consistency across all our channels.

About You:
You will be a digital communications practitioner with some experience working on a social media for an organisation – from monitoring and managing comments and questions, to scheduling campaign content, seeking out stories to share on our channels and working with teams to develop content. We need someone with sound judgement, excellent attention to detail, well-developed coordination skills and effective written and verbal communication skills. You'll be joining a high performing and motivated team and be keen to both learn from others and make a contribution to taking our programme forward. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your social media and communication skills and help deliver on a social media strategy designed to further develop and improve our channels for our existing communities and future followers.
What you will bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Some experience working on social media within a professional organisation.
  • Technical expertise using social media platforms and social media management tools.
  • Sound judgement and a strong understanding of risk with the ability to manage and escalate where appropriate.
  • Experience in developing and implementing social media plans.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience creating and proposing innovative solutions to challenges as they arise.
  • Well-developed attention to detail and administration skills.
