Trimble is recruiting for an Engineering Test Intern to fill an opportunity in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) is a joint venture between Caterpillar and Trimble whose purpose is to Transform the way heavy equipment customers shape the world with solutions that differentiate Caterpillar and Trimble. CTCT develops positioning, control and automation products for earthmoving and paving machines in the construction and mining industries, using technologies such as GNSS, optical total stations, lasers and sonics. Job Summary :
Working in a team, you will primarily be responsible for assisting with the execution of testing of the machine control software and hardware. This will involve on-machine testing as well as office-based testing. You will also be involved in providing feedback on the specification, design and documentation of machine control features and functionality. You will work closely with Application Specialist to ensure CTCT continues to provide high-quality products to the earth moving industry.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Working towards a relevant qualification in Engineering, Surveying, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Physical ability to work on and around construction equipment
- Experience operating heavy machinery (Excavators, dozers, motor graders, etc.)
- Experience with machine control products (Trimble, Topcon, Leica or others)
- Experience in surveying or in the building/construction environment
