In this role you will manage a portfolio of products and client relationships to drive our sales activities to achieve our commercial targets and identify new opportunities. There is plenty of autonomy, opportunity and diversity, with key responsibilities including:
- maintaining regular communication with all internal and external stakeholders relating to the portfolio of products and client relationships
- designing and expediting business development plans, budgets and pricing strategies; reporting on sales performance against budget and agreed targets
- supporting and enabling the process of sales order enquiry through to confirmation
- planning and coordinating marketing/promotions for the portfolio, including participation in relevant industry exhibitions
- identification and evaluation of new related products and new client development opportunities
What we are looking for:
An ambitious, smart and dynamic BD professional, with both commercial/business development background and relevant industry expertise (commercial/pharmaceutical/biotech/biochemistry or similar). We have a history of developing people, so you may still be on the way in your career, but looking for the right opportunity and support, or more senior looking for career extension.
You’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to develop and grow effective relationships with clients and key stakeholders that will lead to new sales and business growth. Your ability to understand, listen and develop relationships will be key, as well as to think outside the box in terms of products and applications, along with the skills to convert those business conversations into commercial opportunity and new markets. The key to your success in this role will be your drive and energy, combined with the people and communication skills to influence and negotiate outcomes, as well as a strong business savviness to understand the need to make the right commercial decisions to achieve our sales targets.
