In this role you will work closely with the Community Librarians of the Branch Community Libraries to become an integrated part of the community through building and maintaining relationships within the neighbourhood. You will take an active interest in what is happening in the neighbourhood, and endeavour to connect people and groups with relevant content, programmes, events, and services- to increase literacy, build resilience in the community, and positive community development.
You will be actively involved in the planning and delivery of programmes and events at the Community Libraries, or in the community, and the facilitation of community-lead activities and programmes. We will be enabling positive community development and contributing to resilient communities. You will also be flexible and able to work at any of the Branch Community Libraries and Central Library as part of the larger Library & Community Services Team.
To be successful in this role you would ideally have a relevant Tertiary Qualification and an understanding of Library Services and Systems. Your previous experience in a customer-centric environment and understanding of the needs of our very diverse communities will be invaluable in this role.
This is a fixed term position until 29 June 2018. You will work 20 hours per week, spread over 5 consecutive days between Monday and Saturday. Some flexibility outside the usual days and hours of work will be required, on an as required basis, to assist with programmes and staff absences.
