Senior Advisor Communications Jobs Vacancy in Ombudsman Wellington City Jobs Details:

The Ombudsman plays a unique role in New Zealand society by helping the community in its dealings with government agencies, to ensure fairness for all. The future of the Ombudsman includes continuing to build on the great work we do to resolve complaints, and also to broaden our focus and have a more proactive role and achieve positive systemic change across the sector.
We recently established a new Communications and Knowledge Management team to provide the right communications support to help the Office achieve its business objectives.
Reporting to the Manager Communications, the new Senior Communications Advisor position will assist with the implementation of the new communications strategy. Your role will be to provide communication advice on routine media enquiries, writing speeches and uploading web content, as well as focussing on the Office's print and digital publications.
Your experience operating at a senior level will enable you to hit the ground running, demonstrating your knowledge and depth of experience to help the team deliver these communications functions. You will be able to build effective and collaborative relationships, juggle multiple projects, liaise with various public sector agencies and as a positive team player be willing to roll up your sleeves to do what's needed on the day.
To be considered for the position, your experience and skills will include:

A proven track record in print and digital publications (preferred)

*
Experience writing speeches for a range of external and national audiences

*
Knowledge of how the PR and media industry works

*
A proven track record in delivering internal and external communications at a senior level

*
Ability to quickly build rapport and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships

*
Knowledge and skills to work with a range of communications technologies and web content management systems

*
High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential

*
Highly competent communicator with excellent written, and interpersonal communication skills

*
Excellent time management and organisational skills

*
Ability to remain effective under pressure to meet deadlines and achieve results

*
Ability to apply utmost discretion in dealing with sensitive information

The successful appointee may be required to achieve and maintain a NZ government (NZSIS) security clearance and have legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
