Operations Engineer Cloud Jobs Vacancy in Taranaki District Health Board New Plymouth Hawera Jobs Details:
1.0FTE (80 Hours per Fortnight)
TDHB have an exciting opportunity in the ICT Services Infrastructure Team for a skilled operations engineer.
The "Operations Engineer - Cloud" will be our first point of contact for all operations related matters. Working with a group of knowledgeable and friendly Infrastructure Engineers, and a SQL DBA, you will look to resolve BAU requests as they arrive; or pass them to a subject matter expert within or external to the Infrastructure team.
The primary focus will be with our on-premises cloud solutions and infrastructure; however we have growing requirements for off-premises solutions as well, and the ideal candidate would have experience in both on-prem and off-prem infrastructure technologies. There is a real opportunity with this position to help us develop off-premises/hybrid solutions and then implement them, so the ideal candidate would have some knowledge around these kinds of solutions already.
Next year is set to be an exciting year for the team, with several agreed programmes of work, including the intention of commencing work into next gen monitoring, automation and infrastructure-as-code, plus a slew of other infrastructure related projects that will require input from this role.
There may be opportunity for project administration of Infrastructure initiated projects, and with this would come additional experience on planning the technical detail and resourcing of such projects.
This opportunity is pitched squarely at those already well experienced in the realm of Infrastructure Operations. Although there will be training opportunities provided, there is an expectation that you will bring proven experience and knowledge with you.
In return for your expertise, TDHB offers a competitive salary and leave package, and an opportunity to work with exciting modern technologies within a close knit and extremely friendly team. The hours of the role are 8am-5pm with a 1 hour lunch break. You may be occasionally required to work outside these hours (e.g. system changes, emergencies), however TDHB promotes a healthy work/life balance, and so, unplanned instances of afterhours work are generally kept to a minimum.
The incumbent will be required to go on-call approximately once a month, which is recompensed separately to the salary for this role.
