The Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS) has a vacancy for a permanent, part-time registered nurse. If you are interested we would love to hear from you.
If you have:
One year's experience as a New Zealand registered or Nursing Council equivalent registered nurse in an acute secondary care facility
Three year's post registration experience in an equivalent secondary care facility outside New Zealand AND completion of the CAP training.
We invite you to join our Cancer Nursing team.
Oncology experience would be preferred, however appropriate training will be given to the successful candidate.
The hours of work will be 24 hours a week working rostered, rotating shifts.
Cancer nursing in this setting is focused on the management of people who are receiving chemotherapy and / or radiation therapy treatment as well as control of symptoms relating to treatment or advanced disease. You will work within a supportive environment which includes working alongside a variety of different multi-disciplinary teams.
Within this role you would be involved in the day-to-day management of patients with cancer which includes chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments. You would be expected to undertake training for the administration of antineoplastic medications. An orientation and education programme is provided with ongoing support to achieve this goal and to meet the requirements of the Cancer Nurses Knowledge and Skills Framework.
This position is varied and involves ongoing professional development opportunities. It is expected that you would have Level 3 PDRP or be willing to work towards this within a negotiated time frame.
Nurses with advanced patient assessment skills, excellent communication skills and computer knowledge, and who enjoy working in a supportive, team environment are invited to apply.
