Are you an experienced, motivated Speech Language Therapist looking for a new challenge?
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic Speech Language Therapist to join our friendly team on a permanent part time (0.8 FTE) basis.
Auckland City Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country, providing specialist, tertiary care to the population of Auckland and beyond. The Speech Language Therapy service provides assessment and management of communication and swallowing impairment to adult inpatients across the hospital. We have a staff of 9 working across the hospital. With strong links to both the Auckland and Massey University training programmes there are plentiful opportunities to engage in research and student education. The team work together closely in a supportive environment to provide a high quality service and strive to constantly evaluate and improve the care we offer. We are looking for an experienced Speech Language Therapist with at least two years' experience and proven skills in the assessment and management of communication disorders and dysphagia, ideally through the use of videofluoroscopy and Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES).
This position will be primarily based in the Adult Allied Health department, providing specialist assessment and management planning in the adult population across all inpatient wards. You will be working alongside a supportive interdisciplinary team of physicians, surgeons, nurse specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers and therapy assistants.
The Speech Language Therapy team at Auckland City Hospital currently provide regular videofluoroscopy clinics, a FEES service and regular input into tracheostomy weaning/management throughout the hospital.
To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor's qualification in Speech Language Therapy or equivalent, and will be eligible for NZSTA membership.
