We are looking for a person who is a firewall and network champion with proven experience with one or more of the top five vendor systems.
As well as having the necessary technical skills and experience, you are adept at picking up new technologies and processes; calm under pressure and in times of urgency, demonstrating excellent time management and prioritisation skills. As with any IT team, a problem-solving mindset is essential, able to trouble shoot and fire fight for short term fixes whilst keeping an eye on the bigger picture to contribute effectively to solving recurring issues in the longer term.
You will be joining a strong technical team responsible for administering, monitoring and managing the health of the corporate LAN, campus Wi-Fi and WAN links to our Branch Offices inside a complex Windows, Linux and VMware environment, specialising in firewalls and UTMS, intrusion detection and prevention, TCP/IP routing and switching, vulnerability scanning, hardening and patching, video conferencing, anti-malware, cloud computing and providing operational support. Additional duties will/may include project work, architecture, solution design, documentation, supporting a culture of continuous improvement through the contribution of well-articulated ideas and recommendations.
Experience and industry certification requirements:
- Relevant Information Technology degree
- Relevant hands-on experience (atleast 5 years)
- TCP/IP networking (Cisco CCENT/CCNA)
- Linux and Microsoft (Windows Server, SQL Server)
- Using SFIA (the Skills Framework for the Information Age), the relevant Skills at Levels 4-5 are Network Support (NTAS), Network Design (NTDS), Information Security (SCTY), Security Administration (SCAD) and IT Infrastructure (ITOP).
- Strong communication skills (written & spoken English)
