We have a new position available for an experienced Project Coordinator due to new research funding. The role of project coordinator is to deliver the SHIVERS II project in accordance with the approved project plan. In establishment phase this will include collating the operational requirements of the project as identified by the primary advisory group and establishing an administrative "project office" to coordinate operations. The role also includes budgeting and tracking project finances, developing sub-contracts for work delivery, ensuring that operations are meeting project requirements, and assuring that funding agency reporting requirements are being met. Many responsibilities will require a close working relationship with the ESR Accounts and Fiscal Offices.
The Project Coordinator is the individual responsible for delivering the project. The Project Coordinator leads and manages the Project Team, with the authority and responsibility to run the project on a day-to-day basis. This research project will require coordination and monitoring of internal ESR activities and those being conducted by sub-contractors, which form a substantive part of the project. Because this group is split over two sites this position will be required to work from the Wallaceville site on occasions but primarily based at the Kenepuru Science Centre.
To be successful in this position you must have a tertiary qualification and at least two years experience working as project coordinator/manager in an applied public health setting (Ministry of Health, public health unit, or a similar setting). You must also have access to your own transport as some travel to our Wallaceville site will be a requirement of the position.
This position is part time at a rate of 30 hours per week and fixed term for 12 months.
