Context Architects is looking for a People and Culture Leader to execute our vision of being the best people practice in architecture.
The primary objective of the role is to work with our leadership and associate team to cultivate a high performance, collaborative and fun team culture.
Our 60+ strong team is based in Kingsland studios, with an equally important but smaller Christchurch studio, creating an integrated national team.
Strategic planning is a key part of the role, with the People and Culture Leader developing and executing an annual People Plan, detailing everything from recruitment to onboarding, Health & Safety, remuneration, professional development and career pathways.
The People & Culture Leader embraces Context's brand proposition 'Tomorrow's Calling' and uses innovation and technologies to build a strong people platform.
They are systematic and focus on Context's career pathways, professional development and keeping our team upskilled to be at the forefront of industry trends.
They have the support of a larger practice and corporate functions such as an IT and alternative reality digital team, finance team, and a business development, marketing and PR team.

You will be a natural people manager who aligns with our practice's values and is looking for a great people leadership role.
You will be senior with a strategic focus, and understand that the success of a business hinges on how people work together. You will know that good systems are the backbone that allow people to work at their creative best.
You embrace the digital world and all the possibilities that opens up to engage staff in people management. We run an online People Management system that integrates our people records, templates, recruitment and performance appraisal systems.

You will have a natural antipathy towards hierarchical thinking and privilege, and by nature, treat people as you would like to be treated.

recruitment and talent searching, focused on LinkedIn Recruit
organisational structuring, position descriptions and KPIs
incentive schemes management
Inductions and onboarding programmes
professional development and training programmes
company policies including our Health & Safety app development and flexible working platform
annual remuneration benchmarking and performance reviews
leadership and management coaching
performance appraisals and managment
employer branding and PR
People management document management and record keeping
resolving people issues.
experienced People professional ideally having worked in a professional services industry, with over 5+ years experience
ideally private sector business background
working knowledge of employment, Health & Safety and other legislation
experience dealing with employment issues in a confident, empathetic and process-oriented way
experience managing online HR or People Management systems
recruitment and talent search experience
HR or business-related degree qualification
experience developing and implementing training programmes
good time management with a bent towards technologies and systems
great communication skills with dynamic creative writing abilities
