Broadspectrum is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Copper Technician to be based in our depot in Whakatane.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced copper technician or individual with relevant telco cabling experience to either develop new skills and gain experience in a continuously developing industry or apply existing skills and experience with a company who can offer career development either within telecommunications or across a wide range of other industry sectors.
To be successful in this role it will be advantageous to have a reasonable level of physical fitness and dexterity, excellent practical/mechanical hand skills, very good mathematical and analytical abilities, excellent vision and a willingness to work at heights.
You will also preferably have experience as an OP First Time Fix faultman. Provisioning experience would also be an advantage.
Other Experience and Qualifications
- Completion of Year 11 education or equivalent is preferable. A relevant trade qualification is an advantage, but not essential.
- An appreciation for adherence to Health and Safety requirements and policies in a physical and potentially hazardous work environment is essential.
- Basic computer literacy is preferable – e.g. use of tablets and laptops for processing work orders and reporting on common software programmes.
- A valid NZ driver’s license Class 1 is essential.
- Experience in Telecommunications, copper installation or related trades is an advantage, but not essential.
You will be working in a UFB area so NGA experience would be an advantage
