This role supports our Transport business which consists predominantly of the delivery of maintenance and construction services to Auckland Transport, NZTA and a variety of regional councils.
Reporting to the New Zealand Finance manager for our transport business, you will lead a small team with reports based in Hamilton and Auckland. You will provide support and coaching to your team members, guiding them in matters that have a financial impact and helping them to design efficient processes. With a business partnering approach you will help contract managers to understand their results and how to identify opportunities for improvements in their contracts. Other responsibilities will include month-end reporting, monthly forecasting and budgeting for P&L and cash flow. The role can be based out of either Newmarket or Albany, with an expectation that you will also occasionally travel to the Waikato and Pukekohe for meetings.
Requirements and advantageous
Previous experience of project based accounting with a contracting business
Demonstrated ability in financial forecasting
Experience of working for a large complex organisation
Strength in the understanding, development and improvement of processes and systems
Experience in people management and leadership will be advantageous
Chartered account status is advantageous
Experience in SAP is ideal but not essential – any ERP exposure will suffice.
