Take the lead in candidate attraction and campaign management
The Department of Corrections might not be the first place you think of when the words ‘innovative, creative and fast paced’ come to mind however that’s exactly what we are doing in this recruitment team.
Given the operational challenges we are currently experiencing, due to the increase in the offender population, this recruitment team works at pace to achieve significant targets. To do this we look at how we can bring our opportunities up on the radar of people who may not have considered Corrections before. We think we’ve been bold in the steps we’ve taken and we’re up for doing more. Are you the person to take us there?
This is a new, senior role reporting to the National Manager Recruitment. The Principal Advisor will take the lead in raising the profile of Corrections in the communities we serve, looking for ways to engage potential candidates across multiple role types and levels within this large and complex organisation. You will look strategically at how to take our brand to market and then put in place innovative campaigns to get our message out there.
You’ll be adept at influencing the internal stakeholders around you to see the vision and engage with new initiatives. So far our candidate engagement strategy has progressed from only using an 0800 number to now we are live online broadcasting – it’s an exciting time. This role will involve doing everything from writing advertising, organising and attending community events (around NZ), to working with our advertising agency to create and place content designed to drive candidate flow.
It’s going to take energy, persistence and creativity to get the job done.
Ideally you will have a strong marketing or advertising background and relish the challenge of telling the untold stories that exist within Corrections. We know the public doesn’t fully understand the amazing work that happens here and we need your expertise to ensure we get those messages across. You’ll be experienced in measuring the success of different campaigns and enjoy working alongside the business to get there.
