Anatomy has been taught at Otago since 1875. Initially it was taught as a core component of the University’s medical degree but over the years it has evolved into the multi-disciplinary research intensive department it is today.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic full-time Postdoctoral Fellow with a passion for regenerative biology. Our research aims to understand whole body regeneration at the molecular and cellular level using a tunicate (sea squirt) model, Botrylloides leachii.
Your Skills and Experience
Applicants should hold a PhD in a relevant biological/marine science, with desirable experience in:
- routine molecular genetic techniques;
- cell labelling and tracking methods;
- gene expression analysis; and
- working with marine animals.
You will be expected to be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and contribution to the preparation of manuscripts.
This is a full-time, fixed term position for three years with a commencement on or after 5 March 2018.
