Lead Operator Jobs Vacancy in Sgs Tauranga Jobs Details:

The primary role is to support branch management and take the lead with tanker and bunker operations and other duties as required.

REPORTING

Supervisor Branch Operations – Oil, Gas and Chemical Downstream Services, Tauranga

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Take lead with and perform tank ship discharges.

Take lead with and perform pipeline and road tanker bunkering operations

Perform 3 rd party tank farm operations relevant to your training and position.

Perform with other work duties relevant to your training and position.

Assist with training / coaching of other operators.

Assist branch management with completing SGS Fields Audits, Loss Prevention Observations and with other SGS Audits and Customer Audits.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Demonstrates compliance with all SGS Operations Integrity, HR and Client HSE Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions by participating in safety meetings, completing required training, intervening in unsafe situations and complying fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to HSE.

Responds appropriately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace.

Acts in accordance with the SGS HSE Management System requirements, disposes of, or directs the disposal of, waste generated as a part of daily work performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all waste transportation and disposal regulations and requirements.

Reports all incidents (actual incidents and near misses) in accordance with the SGS Incident Reporting requirements.

Uses all equipment (including safety equipment) in the manner intended and reports any damaged / lost equipment to supervisor and maintains a clean and tidy workspace.

Maintains awareness of hazards and proposes controls to branch supervisor, HSE Representatives or relevant client / site contact.

Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management.

Complies fully with SGS Customer & Port Site Minimum Operating Requirements Rules and requirements.

Proven analytical and problem - solving skills.

Responsible, adaptable, honest and reliable.

Must be able to work flexible hours, days and nights, Monday to Sunday including Public Holidays.

Must be able to travel from home base and remain away for nights as required.

Able to read understand and follow SGS & Customer instructions work instructions and procedures

Ability to work effectively and safely both autonomously and within a team environment.

Ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure

Ability to communicate (verbal and written) across cultures.

Ability to influence and negotiate constructively across all levels both inside and outside of SGS.

Ability to write and read reports.

Ability to effectively operate VHF and UHF radios.

Ability to show initiative and organization skills.

Hands-On mechanical aptitude.

Have own reliable motorized transport.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Be physically capable of carrying out the duties required of this role, including, but not limited to; manual handling and lifting, climbing bulk storage tanks, walking pipeline routes, moving and joining cargo hoses and climbing ship gangways.

Ability to interact freely, constructively and professionally, with SGS customers, 3 RD Party suppliers, Local and Government Inspectors and Officials and within all levels across SGS.

Hold a current Class 1 and Class 2 New Zealand Drivers Licence

Have a good level of MS computer skills and in particular Excel and ability to operate In-house or customer systems.

Proven experience in leading others an advantage.
